Growing Indoors With the Hydroponic Cart

by nicki on June 21, 2010

Have you ever thought about growing fresh herbs indoors using a hydroponic system? This is the best way to have them at your fingertips all year long. With the hydroponic cart, and its controlled lighting and feeding, your indoor plants won’t get leggy and feeble in the shorter winter days. Lots of room for your favorites. And as they get bigger towards spring, you can just plant them outdoors or in containers.

I love to cook with fresh herbs. Zesty, tasty and nutritious, they are indispensable in my kitchen. Just a few ways to enjoy them….

  • Fresh basil, oregano and thyme for my spaghetti sauce.
  • Sprigs of rosemary stuffed inside a roasting chicken, and tucked under the skin on the breast.
  • Chopped chives and basil for omelettes or scrambled eggs.
  • Dill and parsley for potato salad, along with some freshly minced oregano.
  • Tomato soup flavored at the last minute with Italian parsley and basil.
  • Pork tenderloin that’s been rubbed with a blend of garlic and minced fresh sage leaves.

If you’ve ever wanted fresh herbs all year long, instead of having to put up with those packaged and dried ones that just don’t cut it for flavor, this hydroponic cart could be the answer.

Some of the benefits of the Hydrocart:

  • Made of solid hardwood, the Hydrocart not only looks good, it is a functional piece of furniture for your home, office, even a restaurant kitchen.
  • Added to a care facility, it can give elders a chance to again enjoy gardening.
  • The heavy duty wheels make it easy to move around and clean under.
  • Full spectrum lighting can be set on a timer, so you get much faster foliage growth.
  • Lots of leg room for those who are wheelchair-bound.
  • Eliminates the need for pesticides or weeding jobs.
  • The growing plants add oxygen to your indoor air, giving you a healthier environment.
  • A great way to promote rooting of your cuttings, getting lots of healthy plants from just one mother plant.

Thanks for writing this article Nicki! It is well written and adds needed context to my invention. I am but a humble gardening geek trying to help bring the joys of gardening back to the elderly and mobility impaired. I appreciate your assistance in trying to get the word out. Although my main goal is as stated above, I understand how great the Hydrocart is for the rest of us able-bodied gardeners as well. But the truth remains that we will need the assistance and support of ALL potential markets in order to get it to those less fortunate…..so, again, thank you very much for your interest and assistance!

Sincerely,

John D. Copp
